Egypt Advocacy Day

The Freedom Initiative organizes, on Tuesday, November 2 for a two-hour virtual advocacy training that empowers the community to engage and educate policymakers on human rights and democracy issues in Egypt to their elected officials.

This training and advocacy day is sponsored by a group of Egyptian and international organizations among them Egyptian Human Rights Forum, Cairo Institute for Human Rights Studies, Amnesty International USA, Human Rights Watch, Human Rights First and others.

After the training, participants will have the opportunity to meet with their congressional offices to appeal directly for policies that can improve human rights conditions in Egypt.

The training will be held prior to the U.S.-Egypt Human Rights Dialogue, and we want to ensure that the U.S. continues to use its influence with the Egyptian government to respect universal human rights values.
